My name is Le Rodenberg. My wife Jeannie and I are Life Members of the Gig Harbor Sportsman’s Club and longtime Gig Harbor residents. I am retired after a 50 year career in the composites industry. During my career I served on several industry boards including 24 years on the Board of Directors of the Society of the Plastics Industry (2 years as Chairman), the board of the Composites Institute (4 years as Chairman), the board of the Fiberglass Fabricators Association (2 years as Chairman), and the board of the Composites Fabricators Association (2 years as Chairman). I have been a successful business owner, and have held senior executive positions at two Fortune 250 companies. I have hunted since I was a child and shoot all venues here at the club. I am a competitive PITA Shooter (former State Champion). I served as a board member and a two term President of the Washington State Pacific International Trap Association (WS PITA).
Prior to my current term, I had been the Gig Harbor Sportsman’s Club President for three terms, with my last term being unanimously voted on by the Board of Directors allowing me to run for a third term as required by GHSC by-laws. I currently serve on the GHSC Board of Directors as Investment Committee Chairman, the Club’s City of Gig Harbor liaison and the Harbor Hill Drive Extension Project Chairman.
I know, and have been told by many, that since I first became club president we substantially improved our critically important relationship with the City of Gig Harbor, moving from one of a confrontational relationship with law suits against each other and secret meetings to one of high ethics, honesty, trust, and mutual respect while becoming a true community asset. This ongoing excellent relationship is critically important to the success and future of our club.
With the help of a supportive Board of Directors and great volunteers this club has completed many, many successful projects during my tenure as President. A person needs only to look around the club grounds and in our financial accounts to appreciate the many positive changes that have been made at the club.
The ongoing success of this club depends on volunteers, a proactive board of directors and the proven leadership of an experienced manager. I stand on my record of helping to bring this club into the most financially stable position it has ever been in while protecting our assets and keeping an eye on our future needs.
