Gig Harbor’s Rockin’ Rhythm & Blues Festival, held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, was a big success. A fundraiser, the proceeds from the concert go to support the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation.
Mother Nature blessed concert goers with a wonderful day, shining down on the venue all afternoon. Friends and family gathered to groove to the music of some amazing performers, including Kal David - Lauri Bono and the Real Deal Band, The Shy Boys, Mark Hurwitz & Gin Creek, The Twang Junkies, Jim alley Blues Band, The Whirlies, King Kom Beaux, Red House and Special Guest Michael Wall. Attendees moved and grooved to the tunes, while enjoying picnics brought in, the Beverage Garden and food from Gateway to India.
Concert organizer, Mike Mitchell’s experience shined through as the event appeared, from this writer’s perspective, to run like a well-oiled machine. Dozens of volunteers were coordinated expertly, working quietly behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.
Many thanks to Gig Harbor Sportsman’s Club for hosting the event.
