Lots of fun was had by all at the 2018 Tax Refund Trapshooting Tournament. For the first year the tournament was a combined effort, with Saturday’s events being held at Sumner Sportsmen’s Association, and Sunday’s events at Gig Harbor Sportsman’s Club.
Our very own Scott Moore was part of the winning team for the 200 target combined club event, along with sharpshooters Brayden Lee-Hines and Josh Tiegs. Great job, shooters!
Speaking of Scott Moore, at the tournament he was also recognized for having earned the honorable distinction of being an elite shooter, shooting from the longest yardage in the Handicap discipline, which is 27 yards, as well as shooting AA class average scores in the other two disciplines, Singles and Doubles. In trapshooting terms, he has earned his “AA-27-AA” stripes, an extremely difficult feat to accomplish. What is even more remarkable about Scott’s achievement is that he has only been shooting competitive trap for just short of 5 years! Not only is Scott a remarkable shooter, he’s also one of the nicest guys you’ll ever have the opportunity to meet. Next time you see Scott you’ll want to offer him a big CONGRATULATIONS!
Another notable accomplishment was recognized at the event. Dave Sypher earned his PITA 50,000 pin after shooting his 50,000th target during the tournament. Dave’s also a great shooter who frequently brings in winning scores and takes home a trophy. CONGRATULATIONS, Dave!
Plan now to attend next year’s annual Tax Relief Tournament.
