The annual Big Yak, a PITA (Pacific International Trapshooting Association) tournament held in Yakima, Washington, was full of fun for Gig Harbor Sportsman's Club members who made the trek to Yakima to compete on Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18, 2016.
Those shooting Event 2, Handicap on Saturday afternoon were met with severe high winds, adding to the fun and challenge of crushing the clays. The winds died down a wee bit for the last event of the day, Event 3, Doubles, but the targets were still dancing in the sky in an unpredictable manner.
Shooters, friends and family gathered for a potluck on Saturday night.
On Sunday the morning greeted participants with excellent shooting weather, with winds kicking up again late in the day, during the final phases of Event 5, Handicap.
A great time was had by all, and many Gig Harbor Sportsman’s Club members shined. The following members brought home a trophy:
