2012 PITA Seafood Shoot

2012 PITA Seafood Shoot

September 21 – 23 brought shooters from near and far to participate in the annual Gig Harbor Seafood Fun Shoot.  A PITA sanctioned event, shooters were challenged to shoot their best for three days straight.  Friday brought doubles and handicap, while both Saturday and Sunday the challenges were singles and handicap.

Whether you were crying in your beer, strutting like a peacock or anything in between, fun, fellowship and stories galore were exchanged at the potluck Friday night, and continued on into the Saturday seafood feast.

Have you ever seen oysters as big as sasquatch’s hand??  No?  Then you must have missed our feast!  Perfectly grilled on the BBQ by our phenomenal BBQ masters, they were mouth-wateringly delicious.   Oh, and did we mention the freshly caught salmon, supplied by none other than our very own Captain Tom Lovrovich, a third generation fisherman?  It was AMAZING!

And, that was just the beginning!  There was food galore.

Let’s face it, we all had a great excuse (for those who needed one) for less than stellar shooting on Sunday as we were still recovering from Saturday night’s food and fellowship bonanza (is that on the excuse t-shirt??).

It was a great event, with prizes awarded and bragging rights definitely earned during this fun-filled weekend.

Start planning NOW to join us next year!  See you there…
