Clay Pigeon Overview
What is it?
An easy game. A few clay pigeons are clipped to a frame, and you just shoot them with your handgun. They aren't even moving. No sweat!
What can I shoot?
Any caliber handgun. Even .22's with fancy laser guided goodies are allowed*.
When is it?
Sunday afternoons, 3:30pm - 6:30pm (or so)**.
How much does it cost?
Sunday Pistol Clay Shoot - Entry Fee Change:
Effective June 3, 2012 - the entry fee for adults will be $10.00, and for competitors under 16, $5.00.
Who can shoot?
Anyone who can safely shoot***.
What do you supply?
The targets. You have to supply the gun and ammunition (50 rounds)****
How do I sign up?
Just show up.
What do I win?
Nothing, except possibly bragging rights. That depends on you!
We don't even keep track of it. You may occassionally find winners' names posted here, so you can go to work and show people and gloat.
*Laser sights are OK. There are no such thing as laser-guided bullets.
**We won't shoot if fewer than 6 people show up, or if the range is closed for a PITA shoot. Check the range schedule on the monthly calendar here at the web site.
***We are more than happy to have shooters under 18 participate, but a parent or responsible adult (your adult, not our adult) must accompany them at all times when they are on the range
.****Many common calibers of ammunition are available for sale. The club does not have "loaner" or rental handguns.
