The following positions are up for election: President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Secretary, and 2 Board positions.
The call for nominations closed on July 17, 2017.
Nominations will be accepted from the floor at the General Membership Meeting and Annual Election, on August 17, 2017. Any floor nominations will be write-in candidates.
Candidates have the opportunity to post statements and/or a biography in support of their candidacy on the Gig Harbor Sportsman's Club website. Candidates also had the opportunity to present themselves before the Board at the July 2017 Board meeting.
All candidates must have been a member in good standing for at least one year.
At the June 20, 2017 Board Meeting Past President Le Rodenberg was nominated to run for the office of President, incumbent officer Terry Holms was nominated for re-election for the office of Vice President and incumbent Board member Chuck Griffey was nominated for re-election for a Board position.
At the July 18, 2017 Board Meeting Andy Coster nominated himself to run for the office of President, and Gordon Hauschild was nominated for a Board position.
If there are more than 2 candidates for the 2 open Board positions, the 2 highest “vote recipients” will fill the 2, three-year Board terms.
Nominations may be made from the floor at the annual meeting.
Nominees must be present when nominated or have given their consent in writing prior to being accepted as a nominee.
Voting by Proxy is not allowed, nor may any other member submit a ballot for another member other than their spouse. Any ballot handled by anyone other than the respective member, their spouse, the Election & Nominations Committee Chairperson or the Chairperson’s designee prior to tally will be disqualified.
Absentee Ballots will be available for those who wish or cannot attend the August 17, 2017 General Membership Meeting and Annual Election. For absentee ballots, please contact Secretary Rob Joanis (firstname.lastname@example.org). Absentee ballots must be returned by August 10, 2017, or delivered by the voting member at the Annual Election on August 17, 2017.
The General Membership Meeting and Annual Election will begin at 6:00PM, with the polls opening upon meeting recess. The polls will close at 8:30PM.
Please note that email notifications of the yearly elections went out on July 8, 2017. If you did not receive an email regarding this then we do not have a valid email address for you. It is Imperative that we have this information so that we may contact our members. Currently we are only able to reach half our membership base via email format. Please provide your email address to email@example.com so that your records can be updated. In addition to election information, emergency range closure notifications, membership renewals, newsletters, and messages from our President are just some of the things we send over email. Rest assured that your information is NEVER shared outside of the club!
