It was the 10th Anniversary for the Hawaii State PITA Championships, and four club members made the trip to Hilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Le Rodenberg, Art Fenton, Tony Tebeau, and Grant Lau were joined by fellow Washington shooters Rich Evans and Zach Keller from the eastern side of the state. The shooters and their wives all went for the fun in the sun, and a chance to win some of the special trophies offered for the 10th anniversary of the shoot.
In the first event, a 50 target handicap, Grant won the first of his trophies in the tournament. In the preliminary doubles event both Le and Rich won the first of their trophies. In the singles championships Le and Zach won trophies. Rich won the doubles championship dropping only a single target. The handicap championship saw Le win another trophy, and in the High Over All trophies Grant won the Vet category, while Rich won A class.
While the weather didn't totally cooperate, everyone enjoyed being warm, the whales splashing in Hilo Bay, and the very comfortable accommodations. Things went so well, and it was so much fun, plans are already being made to return in 2015.
